I am sure you may be asking “who is this woman and why should I trust her traveling judgment?” So, let me tell you a bit about myself:
I grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in a busy city port facing the Pacific Ocean. Our childhood vacations were typical for a middle-class Ecuadorian family: a 45-minute road trip to the beach right after school on a Friday. We did not own a house at the beach, but at the time it was very affordable to rent a cabin for the entire family for the weekend. I love my childhood travel memories: the smell of the ocean, the smooth feeling of the sand underneath my feet, and the heat of the sun warming up my body. The beach holds a special place in my heart!
Now I am based in Dutch Country, Pennsylvania. Quite the change, right? I live here with my husband, our four beautiful boys, and our amazing dog. My husband has been my main travel companion and partner in mischief as we set out exploring the whole world. As a young couple married in our early twenties, we focused on financial security and career advancement to having a stable home we could return to from our adventures. I believe that discipline, determination, and trust in yourself are the key to achieving your goals and dreams. After years of hard work across industries and as business owners, we came across an opportunity to dedicate more time to travel. As for my individual passions, having the chance to combine traveling and writing is a dream come true!
Our travel philosophy is simple. When we travel, it’s not just to say we’ve been there and done that, but to learn as much as we can about the places we visit. We try to learn about the location’s demographics, political system, safety, in addition to the most popular meals and the “must do” activities. Believe me, when I say, no book will teach you as much as traveling will.
Knowledge is power, they say. Well, “experiences build up life”, I say.
I was never big on spending money on brand name clothing or luxury items, but I would spend money making memories while traveling with my family.
Many people ask what the best part of my traveling has been, and I always answer like this: Besides the exposure to new cultures, tasting of good food and wines, the amazing sights, and the memories and activities you experience, there are the people you meet along the journey, and the stories you hear. In other words: any place, no matter how small or how close to home, can be an enchanting adventure.
Over the course of almost 20 years, we have visited over 50 countries through different travel pathways. From tours to self-planned trips, cruise lines to RVs, focused journeys through one country to island-hopping, we have explored a wide variety of travel experiences, and I can’t wait to share them with you. I hope to inspire your next adventure! Follow me travelingourworldwithck.com/
