ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
As a parent’s we all know that sometimes our kids find it hard to pay attention, to follow directions, sit still, or simply wait for their turn; but yes, there is a BIG BUT for kids with ADHD as it’s a completely different story. Their struggles are harder and happen more often.
There are three categories that can be found in ADHD: Hyperactivity, Inattentiveness and Impulsivity.
Kids with hyperactivity are restless, fidgety and get bored easily. They climb and jump when they shouldn’t. Kids who are impulsive act too quickly without thinking; they might do or take things without asking permission. On the other hand, kids who are inattentive or get distracted easily have trouble concentrating or staying on a task, they might miss important details when are given directions and tend to daydream or looked absent minded.
