Each year going back to 1943, the President of the United States proclaims March “Red Cross Month.” We use this month as a chance to honor and celebrate the everyday heroes who help us fulfill our mission. This March, we encourage you to uncover your inner hero.
We aspire to turn compassion into action so that:
- All people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope;
- Our communities are ready and prepared for disasters;
- Everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products;
- All members of our armed services and their families find support and comfort whenever needed; and
- In an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives.
If you are interested in helping our communities, you can participate as a volunteer. Today more than ever, volunteers (especially bilingual volunteers) are needed to work with the Hispanic community right here in Berks County. Work as a volunteer and discover how your knowledge, skills, abilities and enthusiasm can give you an unforgettable experience.
