Human beings have to learn to live the present-day treasuring every moment. Many times we lose our present days remembering with melancholy the past, other times dreaming about the future which is something that is not guaranteed for anybody. I’m not saying that it is wrong to plan and dream of better things. The bad thing is that we put so much energy into it that we forget to live in the present day which is a gift of life.
This 2018 has gone literally flying, we are at the end of the year festivities and I started thinking about how incredibly fast these 12 months left and that it’s time that will never come back. With nostalgia, I also remember those calls that I thought I would make and I did not have time. I remember that messages that I said I was going to write and never take 5 minutes to do it. So many things that I wanted to do and I did not do. So many hugs that I wanted to give and I did not do it for the lack of time which is a shame because those things do not consume that much time; I just needed to take a little second to do them.
In this season it is inevitable not to cry for those empty chairs and beings in our family that are no longer physically in our midst. That’s why it’s so important to continue reminding those we love how important and valuable they are to us. We have to learn to love without limits, take time for what really matters because inevitably those empty chairs will continue to increase.
This Christmas and New Year festivities I invite you to reflect and remember that love can be demonstrated in words, time and actions. Smile, love and live every day to the fullest as if it were your last day. Happy Holidays and may the love of Jesus shine forever in your hearts and family!
