How to Wear a Hat for the Holidays while Keeping your Curls Intact!
Big curly hair can make it challenging to wear a hat. Raise your hand if you’re a curly girl that does not wear hats for the simple reason that yours curls will end up flat and lifeless! If you raised your hand you’re not alone, for me wearing a hat is a huge gamble with my curls.
Hats are fun and can take your look from simple to super fashionable. The problem for us curly girls is that hats are made of materials that make our curls super flat and frizzy. Wearing a hat is a huge commitment, and taking the hat off is not longer an option. Good news is there are companies that understand our hair’s needs and make hats lined with satin and an elastic band in the back to fit our curls. The TRESS baseball hat was designed to allow us to wear a hat that will accommodate our curls and when we take the hat off our curls look as perfect as the first day.
The importance of lining a hat with satin is that this fabric is soft and slippery and will allow your curls to sit under the hat comfortably without rubbing and creating frizz. Unfortunately not all hats are lined with satin, but I have you covered. The next time you want to wear a hat, line it with a small satin scarf, secure the satin scarf onto the hat with some safety pins and there you have it! Your favorite hat can be lined with satin in seconds to protect your curls!
So go ahead and line your favorite hat with satin and try it on, I promise you and your curls will love it!
