Health is not only the absence of discomfort or physical illness. To be healthy is to enjoy physical, mental and social wellbeing. If one of these factors does not work properly, your health is affected.
It is important for us to understand that we are the ones who receive the messages from our body indicating that something is out of balance. We have to be vigilant and take the necessary measures to prevent a minor ailment from becoming a disease. Prevention is the key to success in order to live life to the fullest.
If we have a diagnosed condition, we must follow the doctor’s instructions to keep it under control. We should not self-diagnose, much less take medications if they are not medically approved. We must remember the saying that the cure may be more expensive than the disease.
We must consider our body as the temple in which a unique and special being dwells. For that being to manifest and develop its capabilities to the fullest, we have to feed it properly. We have to learn to face our problems or adversities. This way, we prevent fear and anxiety from hindering our efforts to resolve and affect our emotional health. If we cannot do it alone, there are options to help us achieve harmony and balance in our physical and psychological health.
Let’s enjoy life, always remembering that health is the greatest wealth we have.
