Announcing: The Building Berks Awards!
Over the past two years, we’ve seen some phenomenal construction projects in our area, an indicator that our economy is on the rise! The construction and real estate industries are an important component of our local economy. From employing thousands of people to improving the quality of life in our area, these industries deserve a showcase for their growth and activity.
That’s why the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) is holding the first annual Building Berks Awards! These awards will honor outstanding residential, commercial, and industrial development projects throughout our area. Nominations are now being accepted; the deadline is August 31. If you or someone you know is part of the construction industry, don’t miss this great opportunity!
For this inaugural year, projects must have been completed between January 2016 and June 2018. Projects can be new construction or renovations. Applications are open to anyone connected to a construction project within the last two years, including developers, contractors, engineers, bankers, architects, real estate brokers, and legal firms, among others. Projects will be evaluated by a group of distinguished judges representing various industries. Judging criteria will be based on design, aesthetics, and economic impact.
All nominated projects will be featured in a journal published as part of the event. The event, a cocktail reception, will be held this fall at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Reading, where the winners in each category will first be announced. The GRCA will also host a trade show prior to the event that will give builders, construction supply, architects, real estate firms and others, the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the development community.
The GRCA is excited to spotlight the construction and real estate industries! To learn more about the Building Berks Awards, visit www.greaterreading.org/buildingberks or contact Deb Heffner at 610-376-6766.
