Resolution or Action
Resolution means the mood to solve a situation. Every time a year ends, many of us make resolutions. However what happens in most cases is that we can’t fulfill them.
If the resolutions do not go beyond the desire to solve something that bothers us, we are at a disadvantage. For our resolutions and changes to become a reality, it is necessary to evaluate ourselves and accept that we have a problem.
A good example is the common resolution to lose weight. We look for diets and we start them. The months pass and we continue the same. Like this there are many other resolutions that remain in the inkwell.
What can we do? The first step should be to identify the problem. Then develop an action plan to solve it. The third step is to find a motivation that encourages us to move forward. The plan and actions must be individual and real. We must not impose goals that we can’t fulfill. Frustration is the greatest enemy of an action plan.
Remember that there is not a single straight line that leads us to solve our problems. The motivation has to be ours. We must not take action to please others. We have to start as the command says “Love your neighbor as yourself”. It says no more than you. In other words internal motivation, that which comes from the soul is the most important. When that motivation is let out and cultivated, there is no one to stop it. Let’s be practical in 2018.
Recall the words of Gibran Jalil Gibran in the Prophet. “Pleasure is a song of freedom, but it’s not freedom.” Eating is pleasant, but when it’s done to an excess the result leads us to be prisoners. Many Congratulations and good luck!
