Weeks ago during the hurricane of Maria in Puerto Rico I saw several videos and comments about a Dominican lawyer who was insulting Puerto Ricans and there were so many people angry about these horrible comments especially at such a difficult time for many people who did not know anything about their family on the island.I think that this is the opinion of only one person, and we should not let that affect our opinion of our Dominican brothers. I have so many friends and super good people in my life of Dominican origin and I find it easy to ignore these comments because I know there are many good people. I think it would be unfair for us to form an opinion for all Dominicans based on an idiot like this one.I congratulate the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD), which will sanction the lawyer who insulted Puerto Ricans through social networks, despite the humanitarian crisis in our country and the fact that they initiated a rapid investigation of the case.Latinos, with the president we have today, it is time to stay together more than ever. If you fall into the shame of this person, we will be where Donald Trump wants us to be, completely divided. It suits Trump that we Latinos divide, people there and only there will he have the force that he needs to destroy us. Latinos remember “where there is union, there is force” I will never get tired of saying this.On the contrary I am super proud of our city of Reading because I saw so much union. Not only for the collection of supplies to send to Mexico and Puerto Rico but also the attitude of people in social media and networks. Everyone kept everyone in touch with information as we were all desperate to hear from our family and friends on the island and Mexico. We are LATIN Pride…. now we just have to work on being UNITED LATINOS.
