English: Back to School Success It is that time of the year when parents become “crazy” and all for the most awaited moment or for some the less expected: back to school. Back to school can be simple, or just as complicated to the point of becoming chaos. Mental preparation, as well as daily routine changes, purchases of school materials, uniforms, and creative ideas for lunch; these are some of the tasks to be considered during the school return process. To complicate your life less during this inevitable process, it is advisable to make a to do list on what you need to do. Organizing this list, can help you to cross off everything you have completed. More importantly and for many a very tedious process, is shopping. As a Puerto Rican myself, we are generally procrastinators and in many occasions we leave everything for the last minute. This can create unnecessary tension that can be avoided if we start making the purchases in a reasonable time in anticipation and not the day before the beginning of the classes.Shopping on time, will also help you get better prices which consequently helps you to avoid making a “hole” in your pocket. It is very important to involve your child in this process, but much more imperative is that at least two weeks in advance get your child back to a bedtime and getting up routine. In general, enjoy this process to the fullest, because time passes by “flying,” and it may be that at some point you may long for experiences such as back to school.Joel Cintron, MS, MAPresident/FounderChild & Family First, Co.501 Washington St., Ste 301Reading, PA 19601(610) 396-1140
